LOL i know sounds dumb, but i have a question. just noticed that where the main leaves are on the stalk, there are suckers growing out. they have flower heads on them. So should i have taken them off? Im growing them for height. not the flowers, lol. ido think its done growing in height. there are small flower heads on them. any help is appreciated.

thanks Danny Reeb

For the sunflowers I grow for height - some varieties produce these "suckers", and some don't. If the plant was still bolting I think it would make sense to cut them off. Since you think its done growing in height, then its probably a personal preference of whether or not you'd like some extra sunflowers out in your garden.
