I have noticed a few holes in some of my sunflowers leaves. Big head. The holes are clean with no necrosis and no signs of a sucking insect. Almost looks like a bean beetle or Japanese beetle hole. Possibly a leaf cutter. Random hole here or there. I like to be proactive with pest/disease control so what pesticides/fungicides are you using on these sunflowers, if any. Thanks in advance!

Adding to my post: do you use systemics or contact, or both?

I use both. I spray them with everything my pumpkins and melons get. When the heads start to develope, keep all sprays a few feet down from them. If you dont have bees on the heads, you will end up with empty seeds.
