Trying to figure how much space is needed for the lttle giants. So, if you have actually grown a field pumkin, please offer some helpful advice.

Anywhere from 100sq. ft. to 400sq. ft. will do nicely.

I grow phat jack variety, which can grow >100bs. If you are growing for garden stand sales, I plant them in 10 ft wide rows, spaced 5ft apart between seedlings. This will produce ~3 fruit/plant, some of which have reached >70lbs, unmanaged.
If growing for competition, I agree with the suggestion above. 100-400sq ft is adequate.
