I like one on the main about the 20th of july to first of august.However the last two world records had two fruit on the plants that grew the 162 mackinnon and 154.5 orr.

I would agree with just letting one grow on the main vine rather than two. That way you can concentrate all the energy into one fruit, but then the twin 162's. Maybe a matter of luck with two? IMHO

What exactly is the defanition of a field pumpkin per say? Are they a certain Type? I had some pumkins last year that wieghed out at 168 and 188+ lbs that I grew ....just curious.

you most likely grew Prizewinners which start yellow turn orange,,C Maxima, and a soft corky stem

Where do you find detail information about field pumpkins? How they grow, what to expect, how fast, how long it takes to grow on the vine? etc...
