This is my first year growing pumpkins and I planted 3 mounds in a small garden (approx 4 x 8). The mounds have one plant each and are spaced about 3 feet apart. All three plants are doing well and are starting to flower. I am afraid the garden may become overcrowded which could stunt the growth of the pumpkins. My neighbor will take one, but we were wondering if it is too late to transplant one or two of these plants? Please note that the vines do not appear to have taken root yet. Also note that I know this is a small space for pumpkins, but there is room for the vines to grow outside of the "garden area". These are jack-o-lantern pumpkins. Any advice?

I would say yes it is to late..Most field pumpkins take 120 days to mature..minimum is 90
