Once the p-kin starts to change color, does it continue to put on weight or is it done growing?

My experience is it will put on some just not sure what all species will do after they start goin orange, they difinetly start slowin down. Either way its Best to keep them covered with something. Good Luck

It really depends...Best thing to do would be weigh it and find out..they are small enough and bathroom scales run on batteries

If your growing from a line that comes from the 81 wolf or another line capable of growing over 100 lbs the answer is yes they can put on a lot of size after, maybe 10% more. Put a little marker stick near the end. If it keeps getting bigger you'll know. I think most of the standard varieties are done when orange though.

So, if they go orange and quit growing will the vine die back or will it stay green until fall? I guess I should ask, what do you do with a pumpkin that is finished in July/August? Leave it on the vine or find a cool spot for it?

I don't think that is gonna be an option for me. I'm gonna be doing real good to hit 100, maybe 80 pounds.
