For those that are growing a 209 Werner, how is it doing for you ? I don't know what is going on with mine, but the plant seems stunted and all fruits that don't abort at pollination, abort at about cantalope size. What is crazy is that it is planted back to back against an 81 Wolf which is extremely aggressive and fruits are doing great.

I have a very nice plant with a perfectly shaped fruit on the MV that is already turning colour. I tried to set one further down but this one was going a little too well and as so often happens with a good growing fruit, I couldn't get another one set after it. Had to back it off a bit with the watering after it started splitting when it was small. Maybe the secondary fruit will grow a little longer. No WR from me lol.

Well as luck would have it of which I have none, I lost my primary fruit two days ago at a bit over a 100 pounds. It was a barrel shape and just could not take the 10 pounds a day it was gaining.
Moved onto a backup on the second side vine that is similar in shape and may not last long either. Its gaining nearly 4"cc per day. The blossom end looks a little better than the one I lost but how long can it keep up these gains.

Very strange thing on my 209. I now have a couple of backups growing on a side vines. Both are doing very well but one of them is shaped like a giant acorn!

I have a plant that did that too, I've had it before and believe its not enough water. It had gotten dry here and they kept calling for rain so I put off watering. once I saw shape, I watered as much as I could this vine, but the other vines I couldn't and their shapes remained the same. it didn't quite fill out, but is a lot better than it would have been.
