Not much action on this board so thought I’d post. Anyone have a nice field growing they are willing to talk about. First year in a while I put any effort into fields but nothing special to report. Hoping to get a couple back into the 100 lb range but not looking real promising. Best one now is on the 158.6 MacKinnon but it’s done growing and ready to pick. Know it’s early but my best ones have been early ones.

I have struggled with mine this year. I have 5 plants and no pumpkins. I think I have been so busy with the watermelon, bushel gourds, tomatoes, and giant pumpkins, that I have not given them enough love. Also gave them too much Nitrogen.

My biggest one in the patch right now is on the 162 j mackinnon 18 dap taping 40 pounds, I'm still pollinating a bunch of plants because of 4 different planting dates

My 156 Paul plant is the healthiest I’ve grown so far. I have several prospects all in their first week or so.

I've tried a 205 Wursten X 188 Treece cross a couple of times and both times it aborted after 2 DAP. Is there such thing as genetic incompatabilty that pollinations keep aborting? The 188 Treece isn't putting out female flowers even though it is getting a weekly feeding of 15-35-15 bloom booster. Both plants are in same soil mix and fert program. Both plants are getting 6 cups of 15-35-15 bloom booster solution.

Your plants are still in grow mode. Or, they might need some calcium. Lack of calcium might cause aborts since the solubles generally wont have calcium that may be the issue. You can apply gypsum without too much worry about messing up your ph or your other nutrients??

I was going to start adding some Ca & Mg solution to the fert program and take out N for a few weeks.

Growing 4 field pumpkins this year. Healthy looking with thick vines. Very young pollinations at around the 3 to 8 day range on mains. Oldest at day 14 and growing well. Would like to think if splits and 30 day early maturity stay away, I could get lucky with one. Enjoying their progress right now so can't ask for anything more.

Harvested my 1st fp on 7th Aug, weighed 129 lb, a pb. Set a new fruit the same day... there's a lot of plant to push the new fruit, so hope to better that. 2 other plants will get the same treatment in the next day or two.

Hey Joe, I just set a row this spring about a foot and a half apart. Didn't realize what a 190 lb FP was capable of. Got a dozen going and one I could get to taped at 152 ott 5 days ago 144 ott. Maybe I'll hit a hundred?? Joe your 224 has made a nice addition to my sidewalk!!! Kin is half on the walk. Thanks Again for the seeds. T
