The Southern Ohio Giant Pumpkin Growers will host their annual weighoff at Lowe's in Chillicothe, Ohio on Saturday, October 9th. Registration begins at 8:30 A.M. and weighing begins at 11:30 A.M. Bring your watermelons and cantaloupes as well.

This weighoff is a GPC event, so come one come all. It's been a scant year in these parts so, if you have a big 'un, bring it. Hope to see many of you there!

Oh, directions to Lowe's:

U.S. Route 23 to the Chillicothe Bridge Street exit. Travel westward to Lowe's, which will be on the south side of Bridge Street after you enter town.

Dang, I should have written all this out before posting.

The winning pumpkin will be on display at Lowe's for a period of time and all seeds will be harvested and sent to the winner unless the winner prefers to pick up the pumpkin his/herself. The SOGPG will receive 100 seeds from the winner unless the seed count is very low. The displayed pumpkin will be moved indoors by the Lowe's personnel every evening in case you wonder about vandalism.

We have a very generous prize structure this year.
