I am just looking to get a little more info on the SOGPG weigh-off in Circleville, OH. Now I know the Circleville pumpkin show weigh-off has always been a local weigh-off. Is the SOGPG weigh-off at the circleville pumpkin show going to be open to anybody.
Will the the top 3 pumpkins be required to stay until the pumpkin show is over. If you do not make top 3 what time will the pumpkins be released.
I see the weigh-off starts at noon on Tuesday, October 16, What time is registration till?
Thank you for this information.

Pumpkin Picker,
Registration is from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.
The SOGPG weigh-off, as a GPC site, is open to anyone in the world.
The top three pumpkins will remain on display throughout the duration of the Pumpkin Show. Any pumpkins qualifying for the trip to the New York Botanical Gardens will be released immediately and the next pumpkin(s) in line withheld.
If a grower cannot be there at 6:30 A.M. on Sunday, Oct. 21st to retrieve their pumpkin, I will personally retrieve those seeds, lovingly and carefully process them, and send them to their respective growers minus 25% up to a maximum of 100 seeds. Those seeds will be used to raise funds for our club.
All but the top three pumpkins will be released immediately after the weigh-off. You can find all the details of our weigh-off at sogpg.com.

Danny,
It was a mutual agreement between the SOGPG and Pumpkin Show committees. Sometimes we don't have enough local pumpkins to fill the allotted space for giant pumpkins and the Pumpkin Show committee is very dedicated to filling that space. We have to remember what the Pumpkin Show committee is providing us: A great festival as a weigh-off venue and one which attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors, power for the hoist and scales, and emcees for the weigh-off. In addition, the Pumpkin Show committee provides all the media resources which will include a segment for the RFD channel to be filmed on the day of the weigh-off by a crew from Atlanta, Georgia and aired in the spring. Tony Vanderpool will be featured in that segment which will promote the hobby of growing giant pumpkins and the GPC.
Also, who knows what may show up at the Tuesday weigh-off?
