due to some sponsors backing out we have to reduce and adjust the weigh off prize structure this year. The Bengtsons graciously provide the first place prize of $4000. second place will be $1000 third place will be $500 fourth place will be $300 fifth place will be $200
Howard Dill Award will get $50 and a the GPC Plaque.
I just wanted to put this out as I have had multiple inquiries on prize structure. There is still a possibility that more prize money will be added. We will make changes if the prize money increases and post this if so, but for now we wanted to be fair that everyone knows so they can plan accordingly to which weigh off they decide to bring their pumpkins too. Thanks, Jeff Shenoha

additional info:
www.pumpkinfarm.com for info for the farm and directions.
weighoff registration is 8 to 10:00 am and weighoff at noon Sept 28th. all growers who enter a pumpkin will receive a free family pass for 4 to the farm, and if you check out the site there is a lot of cool things to see and do for both kids and adults.
there is a $25 registration fee to weigh one official pumpkin and one exhibition pumpkin. additional pumpkins will cost $25 a piece to weigh.
thats about it. hope to see you there. shazzy

Shazzy,
I live in Southeast WI and I don't believe their are any weigh off in my area. I was thinking about coming down their to Homer Glen. I don't have any record breakers, just would like to show what I have grown. Is there a catagory for Field Pumpkin?
Thanks

Bring what you want down and we will weigh it..Just giant pumpkin prize $. $25 covers 2 pumpkins.. We can weigh the other stuff prior to 12 noon at no additional cost.. If you grow the heaviest pumpkin, it is to stay at Bengtsons until halloween. At that point, you can come back to get it or we will send back the seeds
