There will be a new Weighoff in Wisconsin's Door County this year. The Weighoff will pay places 1-10 for Giant Pumpkins, as well as Cash Prizes for Watermelon, Squash, Field Pumpkin and Howard Dill. First prize for Pumpkins will be $5000, Second Place $3000, Third $2000, Forth $1000. The Weighoff is Sept 27th at The Lodge at Laethem Smith at 1PM. Sammy Llanas formally of the Bodean's will be playing that evening. There will be kids games and rides all day. The Lodge at Laethem Smith which is full, has held a few rooms for growers which are pretty much filled up. I talked to them yesterday and they said any rooms unfilled by Friday will be released to the public. So, if you plan to stay, which I recommend, better call this week. Going to be a great time!
