There may still be giants out there (Not me). This season has me thinking there is much to learn about growing these fun plants. I hope to post some questions/observations in the following weeks. No doubt, new records will increasingly occur with greater participation by BP growers.

I have to give all due credit to Dan Westfall and his bushel gourd line. He has worked on this strain for over 15+ years. He is a true pioneer among gourd growers. This year I started 2 each of 177 and 245.5 gourds. All the plants were good but the 177 plants were the most vigorous. I kept both 177's which grew the 232 and 279.5 gourds.
