I am posting two web pages that we conducted on growing the biggest bushel gourd back around 1999-2004. All of this is past history now but thought it would be of interest to the bg gourd growers. This year I grew two plants but it was too hot and dry to work them, I had nothing to report to Mark Clementz. Will try again in 2016. I would like to encourage all the grower to take an interest in growing these gourds. I would also encourage all to enter Mark Clementz WWGG contest. He is doing a great job (as you know) and I appreciate his efforts and interest in giant vegetables, especially gourds. http://www.worldwidegiantgrowers.com

Harry thank you for the history and your diary post showing the different seed types- very interesting and valuable info. During your years of growing commercially did you save seeds from the largest gourds- do you have any of those that we could grow or use to cross with small seed types?

I would save seeds from my largest 3 or 4 gourds by sizes. I never weigh them much. I have only grown gourds a couple of time in the last 8 years but I did save some seeds in the old frig, and freezer.
