Tentative List: 279.5 English, 270 Kent, 265.5 Engel,

177 Westfall, 171.5 Ellis, 166 Nieuwenhoff,

136 Scherber, 117.5 Sheldon
These will be germinated, and potted into 3 gallon pots.
Top 4 most vigorous will be planted into the raised beds.
The best 2 will make the cut. All have one common ancester: 177 Westfall. Less plants will be grown this year so I can have fun growing a giant melon for the first time in 5 years. Best of luck to all who grow these
fun plants. Doug

2017 season may be the breakout season for Bushel Gourds.
There are a number of great (big time heavy hitters) pumpkin growers who seem ready to grow them this year.
Looking forward to the weigh offs.

I'll make a spot for two plants. I'm giving my 140 Nieuwenhoff and a 279.5 English a try again. The BG's always seem to get a crappy spot so this year I'm growing one less AG so there is a premium spot for the Bushel Gourds for once.

The A.V.G.V.G. club are giving out seed with their club pack,so there should be quite a few of us growing them.

Just echoing Fred's post, I did not plan on growing a bushel gourd, but I will be now. Nice prize for the heaviest.
