If anyone has some that are pure or can lead me in the right direction I would be super grateful. Having a hard time finding true extra long handle dipper gourd seed.The ones I grow get crossed with other types. Hate starting gourd seeds only to find out way later they are not what I had hoped for.

Another dead end basically Vreeken gets their seeds from Rupp seeds in Ohio and they are a bulk seed supplier therefore not a good source of pure seed.

Tom, thanks for the link but those look like the regular long handle dippers. I am looking for the extra long handle dippers.

Grew some a couple of years ago that had handles a couple feet long. I think I have some dried in the shed. Not sure if the seeds in them would be viable and they were just in a gourd patch so are not pure but I will look and get back to you.

Hey tjsna I've grown extra long handle gourds from Rupp Seeds for 10 years now. Every year they are true long handle dippers. Give them a try.

Leonardo Urena has grown some beautiful extra-long handle
dipper gourds. I don't know if he has any seed to spare. Looking at pictures, some appear to be of the 4-6+ foot length.

Joe those seem to be just long handle - I am seeking Extra long handle.

Cucurbit- So you recommend Rupp's seeds. I haven't used them before. i seen a picture that is on Vreeken's site that showed some around 72" and they get their seed from Rupp.

Doug-- I sent leonardo a FB message a couple days ago asking with no response yet.

Tjsna yes I use rupp. I've got a 7 foot trellis they grow up on and I've had gourds touching the ground at the end of the season. Just give them a call they are a very nice company to work with.

Also I start my seed in mid March , put in green house, then set out in field by the first of May. Hard shell gourds need a long growing season.

Cucurbit- I have always direct sown my hardshell gourds (central IL) but now that you mention this and I now have a greenhouse I will give that a try. I will give Rupp a call first of next week. Thank You.
