If we're going to tweak the BG OTT chart, BG's should collectively be measured the same way at each weigh off that's going to provide OTT data.

A BG that is measured with the blossom down will not have the same measurements when taped on it's side.

A BG that is grown on it's blossom is an oblate spheroid, those measurements are skewed in comparison to a traditional set of OTT numbers.

I highly doubt this will happen but I'd like to collect the data from growers and perhaps develop a second chart for BG's.

So I have one growing a traditional way and then I have two growing on their blossoms Stem up..... so how would I measure each of them?

The BG growing on its' side (traditional) would be taped just like an Atlantic Giant. With the BG's growing on their blossom, you can't get accurate traditional OTT's.

You can get a very accurate circumference measurement with a blossom down fruit but that number is more reflective of a traditional side to side measurement.

You can lay your tape across the top in two directions (North/South - East/West)for your non-traditional side to side numbers.

This will get you close but far from accurate.
