I have had little success drying bushel gourds over the years. I have always suspected that if you cut them in half and scoop them out that the would dry nicely. About three weeks ago I did just that on one of my Caveman's club gourds. (Bushel gourd x long gourd) I cut it lengthwise a little above the middle. I scooped it out right down to the hard shell. It dried down nicely. I don't think you would want to dry them like this in the house as they stink like fermented watermelon.

With bushel gourds you could use this method and get two nice sized bowls. My dried caveman's club gourd looks kind of like a canoe.

Lloyd I have a bunch of dried ones sitting in the field left over from last year. Some of them have cracks in them. I will look and see what I have for you. I know I have a dry caveman's club gourd too they are yours if you want them.
