Prob a dumb Q (though I was always told that there's no such thing) but does Bambi eat bushel gourd plants?!?

My thought is that they are much less desirable to deer than Atlantic Giants, but deer don't really care. I think that they will browse just about anything. They like young vigorous growth so they will most likely eat your young vine tips and leaves. I grew a bushel gourd into the pasture this year, the goats didn't really mess with it that much. (Goats and deer have similar food preferences) Depending on the time of year deer will be more adventurous than others. In Winter they will eat things that they would never touch when other options are available. It all depends on how hungy they are!

Rabbits and groundhogs eat them, so I think deer will too.

No doubt they will test them out! The patch is fenced- was just wanting to grow a portion of the plant on the fence If the deer don't devour it.

It's so damn dry here in the summer the deer do get pretty desperate. Maybe a trellis inside the fence would be a better idea
