Hi Guys. My 200.0 LaRiviere seedling from AZGPG went into the ground 5/1/19. it is now 16-17" in diameter adding about 1/2" to 3/4" of diameter a day with about 40 more days to maturity. The vine is about 350 sq ft. How are yours doing?

The past four weeks have been too hot (105 - 115 oF) for natural pollination to occur. My pumpkin went toast four weeks back, but with enough water this BG loves the heat and there are no insects. I hand pollinated this one about six weeks ago. Today I pruned off three one gallon pot fulls of pea to ping pong ball sized female flowers that were sucking energy from the main fruit. I am getting concerned that it is growing too fast and might split.

I am not aware of any of them ever splitting. Has anyone had that happen yet?

Yes they will split. I had a 250lber crack all the way around last year about Sept 1. We were really wet and had some heavy rain. It was my largest one on the plant and was about 8' from the stump probably had something to do with it. I am not growing a BG this year. Best of Luck to ya'll

My 189.5 Fleming x 38.5 Terry, is about 9" in diameter, and growing fast, at about 1/2" in diameter per day. 100F here today and tomorrow. I'm keeping it well shaded, so it won't abort.

It’s not looking good for me this year. I started with a 370 and 384.5. I pulled the 370 when it started showing long gourds. There have been very few females on my 384.5. I finally pollinated one about 20 ft out on a secondary on 7/17. The stump has started rotting and I’m starting to lose leaves fast.

I went out to my gourd patch this morning and measured my BG using the new 2019 Weight Estimation Chart. 56" + 38" + 40" = 134" = 73 lbs. Still a youngster.
