I brought this question up to Steve this week end. Does anybody know where when why this trait showed up?

Mine kinda looks like a giant bottle gourd with a 6 inch snout. It's packing on the pounds though.

I hope the snout on mine gives my 384 an extra 5 pounds.

Steve, do you measure the snout for circumference or not?

Hi Actually I do not measure the snout for circumference. My OTT measurements are collected and added up, without the Snout. If I get a couple more pounds than I expect because of the snout weight, then I guess its a few bonus pounds.

I grew a 384 last year and it was a normal bushel gourd shape. I saw Steve’s diary last year a noticed the long snout. I’m growing a 384 again this year at it has a long snout. I have pictures in my diary. I pollinated eight females and they all had the same shape.
