Sidevine because lots of times there won’t be females on the main.

I agree with Jay, plus the fruit set on the main vine are usually all stem and very little Bushel Gourd. You will get the bigger ones on the Side Vine. Try to let the main vine grow out to 18-19 ft before setting one on the side vine

Sorry that I am slow to this thread. When you say set one on a side vine 18-19 ft, do you mean a side vine that is 18-19 ft out on the main or any secondary after the main is that far grown?
