I was just perusing the GPC page it looks like bushel gourds dont go heavy that often anymore? What's up? Did they change the chart? Ideas?

I noticed that too. I know Scott Holub adjusted the formula in the chart a couple years ago, which helped the growers get a more accurate estimated weight. And the diameter OTT measurement at Weigh-off's usually now excludes the nose. But other than that I really cant explain any further refinements in the better accuracy of the estimated Bushel Gourd weights.

John the round ones like yours seem to go heavier, than the snouted ones. But my snouted ones just kept growing, they seem to grow longer.

Measuring the nose may be a part of the reason. I measured the nose on one at our weighoff and will change for the future.

I’ve seen it done that way at weighoffs, but I believe GPC rules say not to include the snout. Snout not included the pear shaped ones were still heavy 2-5 percent over. John’s round ones more like 10 percent.
