I am going to limit it to four plants. Do you try to keep them all the same genetics? Do you try to get the most diverse genetics that you can. I want to get four groups of three or four seeds to start out. Select the best two from each group to plant in the patch then cull down to one in each group or do I plant all 12 and select the best looking eight plants for the patch then cull after a couple weeks to get my four plants. This is what I have to work with...
359 Foss (1048 Engel X 2009 Wallace)
705 DeBacco (811 Gerhardt x 2009 Wallace)
881.5 Foss (1770 Lieber x 2009 Wallace)
1317 Clementz (1495 Stelts x 2009 Wallace)
1947 Clementz (1317 Clementz X 2009 Wallace)
1362 Lieber (1495 Stelts x 2009 Wallace)
1399 Christensen 2014
1213 Rea
1048 Engle
1912 Carter
1177 Clementz
1734 Clementz
What would you do? What would you use to pollinate etc. Do you think about that before you plant? The goal is huge but also an HD contender.

awesome list newcastle. I think i would try the 1912 Carter-1317 Clementz cross for big and orange. I might consider the 1213 Rea also...(1610 LIeber x self). You have a problem that most orange growers would love to have...so many good seeds.

For proven orange go with 359, 1317, 1213, 1048.
For super size orange go with 1947, 1912
The rest of these seeds may grow nice orange but I like to see more offspring.
The 881.5 Foss has not produced orange like I hoped it would.

I like to make my crosses at least 3/4 orange. So I would take your 2009 crosses and backcross them with the 1048 Engel. Depends how important orange is to you.
The 1399 Christensen (1662 Stelts x 1107 Zunino) looks interesting but I can't find the cross for the 1107. I'm not sure how many of your seeds were HDA winners. You could cross HDA winners, that's what I did last year.

Thanks for the input, keep it coming it all helps. I did go through the HD club diary 2013,2014,2015 and list the number of times one of my seeds from above was grown and produce the HDA. It might not be complete, I just used the data listed...

1048 Engle 4 times
1317 Clementz 4 times
359 Foss 3 times
1213 Rea 1 time
1399 Christensen 1 time
1947 Clementz 1 time

I did see the 811 Gerhardt listed and 993 Vincent McGill a bunch. I don't have those and don't want to complicate my decision anymore then it all ready is.
Based on the recommendations and info above I am leaning toward 1048 and 1317, with two more to figure out. I am really trying to limit it to 3 or 4. I went a little overboard and tried to grow too many my first year and could not keep up.

Each year we've done the HD club diary the participation is pretty uniform- about 50% of the site winners are submitted out of all of the GPC weigh offs.

Of all the seeds you have, there is only one must plant. The 1317 Clementz, in my opinion. Jim

The 1048 Engle would cross nice and give that rich orange.

Shannon out of curiosity is your last name pronounced 'Angel' ? It is always interesting going to a get together and talking seeds and the different ways growers pronounce names they've only seen in print. Like the first time I met bill bobier. It is pronounced bow-beer. I thought it was French till then lol.
