This is my first year trying orange and was lucky enough to acquire a 1998 Jutras and a 1912 Carter which one would you grow and would you self it the first year to see what it throws or cross it? I have some other real nice orange proven seeds also.

If you had the space, i would be really tempted to grow both...with the idea to self one and to cross with the other. I am guessing that over 70% chance the 1912 will go orange since it was selfed. The 1998.5 was a cross between the 1317 which we all know can throw really nice orange...the pollinator was the 1916 which has shown a tendency for orange. These are just my opinions..i am sure others might differ.
