After seeing the 2106 Schmit I'd probably grow the 1385 for size and color. I have a list of about 25 I need to decide on. I don't believe you can go wrong with any of them. Size, color and shape is what you need to base your decision on. I've got a similar list and want to throw the 1495 Stelts back into it.

Look no further than the first two on your list and if you do, look at the 809 young and 975.5 gansert.
My reasoning is that many seeds are "likely" to go very orange but the 1059 and 811 have been heavily planted and to my knowledge neither has EVER failed to deliver HD caliber orange and shape.

Grow the 811 and cross it with the 800 McMullen... that's what I wanted to do but haven't found an 811.
I think the 1059 Vincent McGill because it supposedly tolerates heat and its your oldest seed... plant it before it expires?

Hard to go wrong with any of them, but the 1059 has established itself as the top HD producing seed ever.811 is right on its heels.not planting either of those for pure orange would be like coaching a basketball game and leaving Michael Jordan on bench.

But if after size also, some of the others like 1385 may be the ticket

I would plant the 1385 after seeing the 2106. However I don't think you could chose the a wrong seed. Nice seed selection.

The older ones for sure, before they become too dry to germinate properly.

I have had the best luck with the 1059, but no one can knock what the 811 has done..

Jeremy - I have grown many of these seeds and the 811 will give you a perfect shaped, smooth, dark orange orange pumpkin. I wish I had another. The 1059 will also give you a dark orange but it has deeper ribs. Good luck.

This is a response to an old post but what the heck!the 1059 will grow you a great pumpkin and so will the 811. The 1059 is a bullet proof heat tolerant plant.it was the mother of my 1533 I grew this year. I grew the biggest 1059ever this year and put it back into the 1533.It was the hottest year ever here in Sacramento and they just laughed at 113 degree days!
