This pumpkin was grown off the 1734 Clementz. From the two pictures I've seen of the 972, it had a great shiny reddish orange color. It was pollinated with the 1177 Clementz. Does anyone know what the pollinator plant produced? I think this could be a great orange cross.

I should clarify.....Does anyone know what the pollinator plant, that pollinated the 972 Groenewold, produced? Or were the male flowers obtained from Mark Clementz's plant that produced the 1474 Clementz? If so, then Big T Hoff answered my question.

The pollinator to Phil's 972 grew his 1278 Dmg. The 1278 was more orange than the 972. Had good shape also. The only reason is was damaged was it got a surface skin split that started to rot, internally the fruit was sound. I am growing a 972 this year also!

I have a 1278 growing (well my grandson does). It's the most beautiful pumpkin we have ever grown. Shiny red orange and beautiful shaped. We will grow several next year. Will be a hd contener for sure. Everyone that sees it says Wow.
