Is it common for orange lines to not have a secondary coming off each leaf node? I hadn’t done orange until this year and I noticed many leaf nodes without a branch vine coming off, made ingenuity necessary to fill the patch with leaves. Or do you think it is more likely a soil chemistry issue?

My 495.2 Ressler didn't have secondary vines until I gave it Bloom Booster. It's put out 3 secondary vines since I applied the Bloom Blooster. Main vine is about 20 feet long.

A healthy orange producer should grow and put out secondary vines like any other plant.

I have only seen this in maxima winter squash and field kins. Hubbards... To be exact. It must be rare in AGs the only time I have seen them miss laterals is when the vine has doubled. Then they throw strange combos--the side vine is replaced with a second leaf, flower, or tendril... & yes, it makes a messy christmas tree pattern..
