The oldest strawberry varieties are from around 1700 and the newest from the 1970s. Newer than that are modern strawberries for me :)

Very interesting And I thought trying to grow from seed Mignonette,Fresca, Vesca and 1 from China was good. I am also trying just to see what they are like Early blood turnip beet,brown dutch winter lettuce and speckled lettuce which are all pre 1800. Those heirloom and landrace sites are fascinating.
