I've got a 542-Rivard-99 that is now about basketball size. My problem is that one of the five lobes on the flower has created a tear in the fruit in the blossom end area. I have to make a decision to cull it in favor of a smaller (softball size) fruit. The tear has kind of healed over. I've sprayed it with a fungicide. The question is...which to cull? will the tear on the fruit that appears to have healed eventually lead to the pumkins demise?? Anyone.. I would like some advice.

HI GEOBEC:I had two tears in the blossem end so far this season but thay,ve both healed on the same pumpkin. now i have two more tears on the same pumpkin. I put some Captions slurry on them to keep any problems like a fungle infection out. If thay dont go all the way through to the cavity and there healing thats good. Only time will tell. Im down to two plants and two pumpkins so no culling here. If the blossem end blows out it blows out theres nothing i can do. But i will tape it and paste it so it,ll last late into the season or for halloween. Good luck
