The National Weather Service in Taunton MA has issued a frost advisory from 3 AM Friday to 6 AM EDT Friday


Widespread frost late tonight and early Friday morning


In Northern Connecticut this includes the greater Hartford area. in Massachusetts this includes most of the state, excluding Nantucket and Marthas Vineyard.

A cold front will sweep across the area this morning, ushering in a cool and dry airmass into the region. Temperatures will fall rapidly after sunset and then bottom out in the low to mid 30S between 3 AM and 6 AM Friday across much of the area, producing a widespread frost. In addition, some areas May experience a light freeze as temperatures briefly fall below freezing in a few locations just prior to sunrise Friday.

Urban centers and coastal locations only have a low risk of frost occurring.

Across northwest Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire temperatures are expected to fall into the 20S tonight and early Friday morning. However, a freeze warning has not been issued as the growing season does not begin across this area until May 20th.
