hello again its curvy with concerns as usuasal when am I not asking questions lol. so heres the deal was eliminating a mound in the patch because one of my plants died from a stem crack my fault. upon leveling the mound I found the most sickly looking thingy I have ever seen it looks like a giant grub blueish and white in color when I poked at it it was alive but sluggish and it actually spit this black stuff on the stick I picked it up with. It got a brown head and is the thickness of a pinky finger nail and is an half inch in length dont know anything about it or were it came from new to the whole garden experience especially my ags should I be worried its a svb grub thingy and if it is what should I watch for concerning my other plants can manual inspections everyday help keep pests in check I inspect the leaves and vines of my plants daily but only found this ugly when I was flatting the mound any advice on what it is leave me advice thanks again curvy1 aka tracy

THE BORER

sounds like you found a grub, could be one of many species?
most likely a japanese beetle or masked chafer beetle, definately not a squash vine borer.

If it was that big it sounds like a June Beetle grub. It would have eaten the roots off that plant had it not been cracked. Bad mojo.
