Whats the best way keep coons away from my plants besides my 12 gauge shotgun?

Engel's Great Pumpkins and Carvings

Menomonie, WI (mail@gr8pumpkin.net)

Electric fence strung on the ground instead of up. About 8 inches off the ground. Then run three lines about 10 inches apart. The other choice is to live trap them and teach them to swim underwater.

I use the Havahart trap too and a fifty cents can of sardines works good for bait.

I always like the sound a ticked off Squirrel make as he throws his body against the walls of a hav-a-hart.

Wrong thread. Coons don't throw themselves into traps like squirrels. Harder to trap too. Make sure a box trap is clean of human scent. It often needs to be larger than the standard Raccoon size also.
