Ok I am trying to do things the Organic way. I applied 1 ounce per gallon as the recommended. Sprayed the Tomatoes,Cucumbers, and pototoes. Had a little left over so decided to spray the long gourds. It burnt the crap out of them. Last time I do that.

What time of the day did you spray and what was the temp? It burnt my leaves last year because I sprayed when the sun was out and the temp was more that 80 degrees. I've discovered if I spray early morning with the temp below 80 degrees it saves the plants. Good Luck.

Neem Oil is hot stuff even at labeled rates.

I had that problem last year. It is kind of like putting vegetable oil on a newborn baby and setting it in the sun for 16 hours straight. Young leaves + neem oil + sun = crispy leaves.

For years, I’ve been using Greenlight Neem Concentrate and Safer Neem Concentrate, both without burn. Even on 90 plus days. I normally spray in morning or evening. I have also been very disappointed about the results against cucumber beetles.

What brands does everyone use and how successful has it been?

Neem Oil works just fine when the instructions and common sense applications are used. For instance no spray material should go on tender new leaves. No spray material should go on, in the blazing sun, of the hottest days, of the year. I personally do not even apply any spray the morning of a projected hot day. If I had anything I had to do preceeding a blazing hot day I would reduce the rate too.

Almost all organically run farms and other organic growers use Neem Oil by the gallons. This statement was not to suggest they throw it about carelessly.

The label lists the cautions concerning mixing with other products, shelf life when mixed and so forth. There are a few do nots!

I personally have used it for 40 years. I can not remember any instance where it did not perform as expected at the labeled strength. I have used it as my main stay on cuke beetles and coached others, to do the same. They go belly up for us. In order to get them one must have proper application, on the leaves, under the leaves and inside the open flowers. This is difficult to have happen unless the patch is reasonably well cleared, of trash growth.

tried organics for Ag's... doesn't work out here. I now embrace the modern chemical arsenal.
