Ive been seeing these little bugs in my patch for the past 2 weeks now and have never seen them before,

They look just like an ear wig minus the fins at the back end they are more of an orangish reg with black wings but the same size,

ive noticed them all over my pumpkins cuecumbers and tomatoes plants these past 2 weeks.

any idea what they are?

I know what cuke beetles look like and i know what an SVB looks like ive tried to look it up on the net with no sucess

any ideas?

thanks

Try using this insect identifier: http://extension-horticulture.tamu.edu/cucurbit/insect/insect.html

It wasn't very useful in identifying the SVB that I saw in my patch (it doesn't have a picture of an adult). So, it's not perfect. But, maybe it has what you're trying to identify.

They aren't lightning bugs are they? Do they have a yellow tail/belly?

Lightning Bugs are good bugs for the garden. Their Larvae eat slugs and other small invertebrates. The adults dont hurt anything. Could also be a snap or blister beetle.
