Let me start from the begining, @6/30 I noticed one of this plants secondary vines start dying off {leaves drooping} I cut it off and found the inside of the vine brown, I continued cutting it back until I saw no more brown inside, almost to the main.7/4 I treated all my plants with Subdue and 3336 drench, was told to repeat 2-3 weeks. All seemed normal after. On 7/19 I came home from work and found 70% of the plant overnight came down with the same symtoms, the plant is dead. This was the niced and largest plant I have ever grown 37'main and 28' secondaries leaves3'-4' high 24-30" around. I have retreated my patch with Subdue and 3336 7/19. I have looked in all 3 Giant pumpkin books and found nothing that resembles this. I have three othe plants at this time, all are growing { touching} next to this plant and show no symptoms yet. Does anyone know what could have caused this and what I should do to protect the other plants. Thanks Dan Kruszyna

Nu-B from Ky. starting to think that heat will not only abort females before and after pollination, but will also cause major plant failure. I pulled my early fav plant out of the patch today. 981 Zunino...L'il David...sad day in Ky. Had 2 'kins set and growing well. Culled one and the second one went soft yesterday. Main and all secndaries had been terminated. One rear secondary started yellowing about a week ago and fruit on main had stopped growing. I did major vine disection today while pulling plant from patch. I found several section of main and secondaries that were soft and rotting, but no other leads as to what caused the problem.

Cont'd...I split open close to 100' of vines...main and secondaries...no critters in them...have never seen a SVB here, so that doesn't suprise me. All roots, main crown and all secondary rooting systems looked healthy. No big boogers growing on them or any weird lookin sh*t anywhere. Am totally confused as to why this plant went down. Total bummer!!! Quick ?...fruit was approx 30 days old...will seeds in it be viable? Peace Wayne
