Nu-B here so prbly should wait for a pro to respond too, but have read to scrape out soft spot if it is small and dry by putting a fan directed at stem area. Prbly should treat scraped area with captan also. Hope this helps. Peace Wayne

In the past i have scraped it out, dusted it very lightly with a sulphur powder and put a fan on it until it dried. Use a diluted bleach solution (1 part bleach to 10 parts water) on the razor. You could even, after your done scraping, take an old tooth brush and scrub down the area with the solution. dont go any deeper than you have too.

On one of my fathers fruit, he recieved a spot were a chunk went missing it was around 4" round, a week later that are got soft with black mold, I was told to wash it out with an 50/50 solution of Bleach and water I mixed it at the rate of 30 % bleach and 70 % water I lightly washed the area clean of all mold let dry then applied a light coat of garden sulphur to the area, its been a good week since the application and the fruit is still growing well and the area hardened up nice.
