What is this?

Could it be that I overfertilized? Any input appreciated.

This could be any number of elements. Spray injury of all sorts will be expressed a little differently depending on the age of the leaf & the environmental conditions at the time of the event.

It is true that we cause our leaves to age prematurely with a lot of what we do.

What strikes me is the leaves adjacent to the damaged one don't look very bad. If you follow that leaf stalk down is it possibly just broken somewhere?

Broken off or in the process of falling.... or may have the tell tale signs, of the SVB.

Thank you for your answers, The copper areas came just over nigth, very quickly. I have fertilized the night before and one night before I`ve sprayed iron fertilizer to the leaves.

SVBs in Europe?

Two more thing, it may have to do with the soil too, soil compaction AND overfertilizing is my mere guess, but I`m a newbie. The third plant which has much better soil don`t have it.

It has affected half of the leaves of my best plant and about 1/4 of the leaves of the other plant.

The copper colouring is quite remarkable. I can`t be natural aging because it occured just over night.

It could be Pseudomonas if it is use a copper fungicide I use Kocide 2000 1.5 tablespoons per gallon or Phyton 27 1 tablespoon per gallon. The Kocide is a lot cheeper than the Phyton but the phyton mixes a lot better and goes on better.

Heino, did you spray the plants with chelated calcium with to a strong a mixture? My plants had the same thing early on. Looks like fertilizer burn.

I'd also say it's fertilizer burn. I have the same.

Thank all for you for your inputs. Dave and Martin, I really think you are right and I appreciate have my guess confirmed by some really experienced growers like you. I think one can hardly avoid overdoing it, if really motivated. I`ve read "If you ain`t blowing them, you ain`t growing them". I guess if you never ever overfertilize them you ain`t growing them either. Too bad it affected my very best palnt the most.

@Dave: Bad news for me yesterday concerning the 621. Only fruit that was left on the main vine split at 120 lbs OTT. Big amount of juice leaking out and everything. Have one more going on a sidevine at about 80 lbs with quite deep splits in its stem also. Seems it just didn`t work out for me. Probably it also was not in the best hands and I made a mistake or two with my culling decisions. I hope you have better luck!
