What is this crap? Some people have said Gummy Stem Blight But I don't think so. It is on the fruit only. Forms a blister like sack...wipes off.

That sounds like the same stuff I have been finding Shannon. It smells pretty bad too.

Yep "little bags of smelly crap" is what April called it

I have it too. It's on the cantalouping in small amounts, but now there is a crack along where the stem attaches to the fruit that I've been cleaning LOTS of goop out of daily. This stuff is not the regular sap that oozes from the pumpkin growing!

yup mine is doing the same around around the upper portion of the stem on the fruit right along the rings of the fruit, no cracks or holes that I can see just seems to be in small droplets.

I pulled the 905 plant today and disected a large portion of it. This stuff gets inside the vines as well. I posted some pics in my diary, they should be up later. I think it's bacterial in nature. If you leave it alone, it will rot the plant tissue under it. I have had success wiping it off and applying undiluted Daconil with a paint brush. I found the stuff on my 1367.5 stump, wiped it off and applied the Daconil. It hasn't come back. Once the pics come up in my diary, have a look. I don't think this stuff is as harmless as some people think.

Since they were posted the other day, you have to go back to that day. Here is where it starts:

Crack on mine seems to be partly healing, after fan and fungicide. There is still goober coming out, although not as much as before.
