Opened one up and found purple fungus and no seeds. Exterior was fine and leaves also. Does anyone have any ideas ?

Fungus need air to survive and thrive ...hair line crack coming from somewhere

The lack of seeds is probably not related to the fungus.

My lack, of seed or low count, of seed was due, to the date of polination, which did not leave enough days, to mature a full crop, of seed.
