Trying to control PM and I am wondering who uses what? banner clearys Eagle . Wondering what is the best?, do you rotate? If you do not wish to post email me private. Thank you

In 2005, I had my best year ever for PM prevention. Mostly organic, surfactant soaps, baking soda, teas & HC oil. Some troubled leaves received a bleach solution as required. Other areas got 3% hydrogen peroxide & water I tried out . I'm still looking for the best spreader-sticker for organic controls.

Benomyl only once and Abound very sparingly to only the older leaves this year.

In 2004 using mostly chemical controls my plants were frosted pretty good and out of control by Labour day.

I didn't have any PM this year, used eagle at a lower rate once a week as per tremors advice, started mid june as we got alot of rain.

I have used the AGRO-K program for the the last two years along with a couple of applications of Daconil during the season and it has worked really good. The main product to control the PM is the Vigor Cal. AGRO-K Rocks!!!!!

The absolute key to PM control is to spray BEFORE any signs of PM appear. I have had little luck controling it after it shows up. I've used Daconil mixed with my normal foliar feeding sprays with good results - applied approximately every two - three weeks throughout the season.

I agree with the main theme...my first year I got ate up...'05 start early, reduced rates, and often, and rotate...no problems this year. Prevention seems to be the key. Peace, Wayne

I used ZeroTol per directions as a preventative, then a curative this year. Tons of PM, dead leaves and burning/toughness or crunchyness. The pure, unmixed stuff turns skin white and itches within seconds of contact and last a couple hours, AleX Noel.

Eagle or Nova (myclobutanil) has consistently performed the best of all the popular fungicides in most university & real farm trials. I would still tank mix it with a contact fungicide (chlorothalonil or vinclozolin) to avoid possible resistance issues.

We have a saying over here....To prevent is better than trying to cure, i guess that says a lot for Disease prevention too.

Conventional advice would be to mix a contact and systemic in rotation every two weeks. So, Daconil or Mancozeb mixed with either Eagle or Banner Maxx. Some folks prefer Compass vs Banner Maxx. Each contact and each systemic is switched at every two week application. Don't use Banner Maxx until well after fruit set.
