Is there a natural control for these pests. I squahed(by hand) about 15 of them today. I really want a natural method, as this part of the garden will likely be in vegetables, for consumption, next year.

There are several options..Rotenone which is extracted from some seeds, and roots of some tropical plant. nasty stuff if you ask me... Then there is Pyrethrum which is derived from Chrysanthemums. It is the friendlier of the two. Then you could do what most organic growers do an attack them using molasses to increase the Brix levels of the plants. They also are now spraying Cedar Oil at 1st flight to control them before the second wave comes. Which sounds interesting to me.

Ohh the best method we have found along with the above is chickens in the garden right before sunset. They run threw eating like kids in a candy store, then scoot back to the roost before it gets dark.

i tried to keep all organic last year.
neem oil seem to help with PM, not much
help on Cukes,squash or any other bugs.

No they only eat the flowers once they run out of bugs. Short periods of time is the key. If they are allowed to free range all the time they will find favorite spots to dust. Normally right in the spot you would prefer they don't.

Every patch in our area but one is held, in control with Neem Oil. The directions must be followed and you may need to go once a week or after every hard rain.
