sometimes salycicic acid is phytotoxic, I used acybenzolar-s- metyl as SAR promoter on giant pumpkins, without toxicity. But the crucial point is: usually SAR inducers works with a preventive effect, how much fitness the plant loss producing SAR response? It's always necessary induce plant response against some pathogens like virus or bacteria that are not always present? Open question

Good point regarding how much energy a plant uses to exhibit SAR. In some areas I suppose this point is moot since *some* form of pest related stress will arrive every year. Likewise the constant application of pesticides ages leaves.

One aspirin is disolved in 2 gallons of water & applied as a foliar.

i've used messenger before with nothing quantifiable for results. i may be using it this week on a plant that i need to kick in the butt.

early maturity has been my fear, but at this point that wouldn't be a problem on a few plants.
