I have a pumpkin with a 8-10" indent on the blossom end. A bowl, well the bowl is filling in.And the lobe end is 3" long. Now the pumpkin is growing into the lobe.I had to trim some of the lobe yesterday, well it grew closer today. Can I leave it to do it's thing, or should I take the lobe off? I don't want to damage this pumpkin!!! Any ideas?
Thanks Scoops

Scoops. Just leave it be and dust the blosson end with fungicide powder where you trimmed and keep it dry and try not to knock it or snap the remainder off. Allow plenty of air movement around the Pumpkin, dust occasionally with the fungicide and all should be fine.

Scoops, alot of guys take that entire blossom end off early in the season, I have no idea why ether. My pumpkin I grew last year did what yours is doing if I understand you right. The lobes where on a slight twisted angle and the pumpkins blossom end was growing into the lobes. I cut a few lobes off mine with a razor knife with out any problems, if I didnt cut them off no doubt the pumpkin would have grew into the lobes ether breaking them off or the lobes would have been cutting into the pumpkin.

What about taking the entire end off? I cut the tops of a couple lobes next day it is touching again! This thing is closing up and fast. The pumpkin looks like a truck tire! Anyone!!!!!!! It's not going to be easy to cut it off anyway.
Thanks Scoops
