Tremor,
My local deer herd loves to eat all of the vines, leaves and pumpkins that I prune off of my 10 plants. I have treated my patch with Merit twice this year. Are these deer getting a dose of Merit that is harmful to them? What about human consumption of these deer after they have been feasting on pumpkin plants that have been treated with Merit. Please respond.

I would say its not a problem. Imidacloprid is used on dogs and cats to kill fleas. Used in Soybean, Corn and other Crops. Along with being used in a lot of food crops now. Problem I see is teaching deer pumpkins are food.

Thanks for the reply Linus. I have a 6 ' fence around my patch, otherwise, I wouldn't be able to grow anything!

The deer are eating some Merit that has accumulated in the vines & leaves but it isn't enough to do them any harm or good (flea or tick control).

I'd be more concerned with the damage being caused by the deer.

The deer are eating the vines and pumpkins that i have pruned off of my plants, so they aren't harming my plants at all.
