After the worst spring since 1907 my season just seems to be getting crappier and crappier. I have three different problems. The first two may be the same and I will have pictures early next week.

One of my plants was doing very well when it suddenly started producing leaves which were very small and veiny (sp?). After several weeks it seems to be starting to produce normal leaves again. I have not sprayed and insecticide or herbicide anywhere near this plant before this started.

About a week after this began I had a very bad infestation of cucumber beetles which I treated with malathion and now seems to be under control. Shortly after the treatments, two of my plants started producing no real leaves, yet the vines are still growing.

Finally, my only plant not effected by any of this started out with what appeared to be a flat vine. The vine looked like two vines stacked on top of each other. Now after 7 feet of growth the vine has split into two normal looking vines. Has anyone had any luck with this type of growth?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

I knoow the feeling same start here. Whatever I didn't do wrong nature took over to finish it. Pappy has a pretty good one going on a flat/double. Mine did the same thing now it's going flat again. Alot of the guys said they got some nice pumpkins on flat vines and it's probably better that it has doubled since the vine is easier to handle. Hang in there! Keep swinging! and whatever other encouraging words I can give, Grow em big!

As a fellow Canadian grower, I feel for you bez... We had a very late spring here too, 4 weeks behind. Now we have favorable conditions but still need some rain. (HOW DRY I AM !!). Im hoping to see some blooms in the next two weeks if conditions remain as they are. The plants are looking really vigorous as the vines are now adding nearly 1 foot each day. Thank God for no pests here!
