Is it red with black dots or golden with dots...if golden/brown, likely a potato beetle. ......G

Just got home from vacation and my plants are dying...I've found lots of those things(red w/ black dots). Are these too potato beetles? Now the leaves are turning a bleached yellow and are crusty on the edges. Within a day or two these leaves die. Email me at MastaGardener@aol.com to see a picture. What do you all recommend spraying for fungicide, insecticide, etc...and where could I get it? All my leaves were drooped this morning...help!

Thanks
Steve

hey Steve I have those bugs here that look like you describe. These bugs are called Asparagus beetles. Eats everything in its patch. They are an orangish color with the black spots.

Today I purchased some Malathion from Home Depot. It's supposed to take care of asparagus beetles, cucumber beetles, SVBs, and much more. I mixed 2 Tbsp/gallon of water and applied. To my amazement..I literally saw the bugs flying off of the leaves and flowers. All of my newly drooped leaves have recovered! I noticed some small splits in the beginning of the vine. I've heard you can by Captain and make a paste to cover the cracks...Where can that be purchased? Thanks again.
