What else besides merit ??? i was thinking of using triazicide, i had a problem with aphids last year, i believe i had the mosaic virus and i am trying to prevent same.

The thing about Merit is that it is systemic. Aply it as a ground drench when the plant is young and it stays with the plant for 90 days. Triazicide is a contact it stays for a few days until washed off by rain or irrigation.

If Mosaic was vectored by aphids (likely) then reducing the population will help...but not much. Mosaic can be transmitted much faster than any conventional isecticide can kill an aphid.

Physical barrier sprays like JMS Stylet Oil are labeled for CMV control.
