Seems every year now I have a rogue great white possum ruin my season by chowin down on my pumpkins. Can anyone recommend a solution for me? I cant use traps due to numerous cats nor can I go the ol' 12 gauge route.

Duff, I had a problem with ground hogs last year, I bought a bunch of the smoke bombs that you can get in most any garden center and tossed one in every hole i found.....problem was solved...

Hav-a-hart box traps work well enough. If you catch the cats - let em go or have Chinese.

Use a trap that doesn't harm the animals in case you catch any cats by mistake. I think you can try using a large squirel trap, my grandpa uses those in his garden. I don't know if they work on possums, but the squirells get trapped very well. I can't see why that wouldn't work with the possums too. I hope this helps.

If you decide on the live traps use peanut butter or jelly on a slice of bread. Cats don't care for them but other critters do.

possumn gravy and bisquits now thats good mafia eating yummmm! he he all jokes aside get ya a couple of those coon traps called coon cuffs use sardines to rubb on them traps he he and possumn will stick his paw inside to get more sardines you got him then knock the critter in the head with ya a stick he he us hillbillies can engineer almost anything lol! possumn gravy and bisquits weeeeee
