I think since it got colder in the last day or two, the heater ran non stop. I think I left it too close to one plant. Only one leaf is affected and the rest seems fine. I hope its ok, since I have the first tendril and the vine is starting to run (not touching ground yet though).

The edge of the leaf crumbles in my hand. I have attached some pics. Let me know what you think. I dont want to spray if I dont have to, but if I do I dont want to leave it too long.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

Yep, looks burnt...one leaf does not a plant make....let er grow. It will survive this (more than likely) after a little growth, if ya dont like the looks of the burnt leaf, clip it off, I have several damaged leafs each year, due to wind usually, and just cut em off, dust em with captan, and all is well. Peace, Wayne

Yes, definitely leaf burn from your heater. You have to be careful with the heaters. Even if the overall ambient temp in your cold frame is not that high, if it is within, say 24" of your plant and aimed directly at it, you can burn the plant. I have done it a "few" times over the years. It'll grow out of it, though. No worries. Clip off the burnt portion of the leaf with scissors. I don't even think the Captan is necessary. But adjust your heater so it's perhaps a little further away and not aimed directly at the plant.
